Search warrant served in Marathon

On December 20 at approximately 2:30 PM. Sheriff’s Special Investigations detectives, executed a search warrant at a room in a Marathon resort.

The warrant was served at Coconut Cay Resort 7196 Oversea Hwy, apartment 57. Inside, detectives located 27 year old Harold Reece. The search of the apartment turned up a 9MM Taurus handgun reported stolen from Miami Gardens. Detectives also located $1,751 in suspected drug proceeds.

Reece was charged with possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm and failure to register as a convicted felon in Monroe County. The $1,751.00 was seized.
