Two charged with armed robbery

A 2011 armed robbery of a Marathon convenience store was solved after detectives arrested two Marathon men for the crime.

The robbery took place on September 21, 2011 at the Circle K Convenience store at 111th Street in Marathon. The clerk told deputies two men entered the store wearing masks. One of them pointed a firearm at the clerk. The two men stole cash and then fled the store on foot.

During the course of the investigation by Detective Nicholis Whiteman, information was received from several sources identifying the two suspects as 17 year old Lucas Paul (18 at the time of his arrest) and  19 year old Gustavo Hernandez (21 at the time of his arrest).

Paul was arrested on June 5 and charged with armed robbery with a firearm. Hernandez was arrested in another county in May and returned to Monroe county on June 8, charged with armed robbery with a firearm.
