Marathon man arrested for business burglary
A Marathon man was arrested Wednesday, charged with breaking in to Miss Monroe Boutique in Islamorada.
59 year old Mark Freedman was identified from surveillance photos taken during the break in on March 24th. Detectives are investigating three other similar burglaries in Islamorada which took place between March 4th and April 22nd.
Detective Yunier Galvez, who is investigating the case, released the photos to the public on April 25th. On the 29th, the detective received a call from someone who recognized Freedman from the photos.
A check on his name revealed Freedman is on probation. A secondary identification was then made by his probation officer.
Freedman was charged with burglary and theft and he was booked into jail. Investigations continue into other similar business burglaries in the Islamorada area.
