Inmate dies of natural causes
A Monroe County jail inmate who was terminally ill and under hospice care while incarcerated, died of natural causes early last Thursday.
40 year old Ramon Fidler was pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. in the Sick Bay unit of the Stock Island Detention Center.
Fidler was arrested May 22, 2012 after threatening someone with a knife at Independence Cay, the homeless shelter in Marathon. He was in jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly intoxication.
