One arrested in traffic stop

On June 20 Detectives from the Special Investigations Division conducted a highway interdiction in Marathon.

Participating in the interdiction were Monroe County traffic enforcement units, Monroe County K-9 teams,  BLOCK DHE agents and a Miami Dade Police K-9 Unit.

During the interdiction, 34 traffic stops were conducted, 17 traffic citations issued, 14 written warnings issued, 23 K-9 searches were completed and one arrest was made for DUI. One notice to appear was issued for drug possession.

42 year old Jennifer Foreman arrested for DUI. She was stopped at U.S. One and Sombrero Beach Road at 10:45 p.m. for having a taillight out. She was impaired and was placed under arrest.

30 year old Jose Orlando Garcia Sandoval was stopped at 8:30 p.m. at the 48 mile marker of U.S. One for having window tint that was too dark. A K-9 team walked around the outside of the vehicle and the dog alerted, indicating the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search of the car turned up a small amount of marijuana. He was give a notice to appear in court for possessing the illegal substance
