Buried gun found in Marathon
Sheriff’s Special Investigations Detectives served a search warrant at 6:30 AM Tuesay on a residence in Marathon.
In response to numerous citizen complaints about drug activity, detectives served the warrant at 491 84th St Ocean in Marathon. Inside the residence detectives found eight people, three of whom had outstanding warrants for drug related charges. A search of the residence turn up a small amount of marijuana. A search outside the residence turned up a small amount of crack cocaine and Glock model 23 handgun buried in the back yard. This evidence will be sent to the crime lab to be checked for fingerprints.
32 year old Jerry Lewis Anderson of Marathon was served with two warrants for sale of cocaine. 48 year old Dorothy Lee Howard of Marathon was served with one warrant for sale of cocaine. 31 year old Jerome Larnel Tubbs of Marathon was served with two warrants for sale of cocaine. More charges may be pending. All three were booked into the Monroe County Detention Center.
