The commercial fisherman haven’t contributed much in the last couple of years and the keys are doing good. why? because of the tourist. If the state would revoke all of the commercial lobster permits and the tourist were able to catch more lobster, the hospitality business would explode. The money would be rolling into the keys via A1A.
