Michigan man dies snorkeling off shore of Bahia Honda

A Brighton, Michigan man died while snorkeling offshore of the Bahia Honda State Park Sunday.

61 year old William Husic, Jr. was with several friends at the state park, snorkeling offshore. One friend said he last saw Husic at around noontime.

His body was found by a couple of men who were offshore on a boat at about 2 p.m. They called 911 and the U.S. Coast Guard responded and brought the body to shore at the Coast Guard Station in Marathon. As the body was being brought in, Husic’s friends reported him missing to park officers.

An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of Husic’s death, but no foul play is suspected.
