Man’s body found floating near Seven Mile Bridge

The body of a man was found floating offshore of the Seven Mile Bridge Monday morning.

Deputies and detectives responded to the South End of the Bridge to reports of a body in the water. A man fishing from the bridge spotted the body and called at 9:40 a.m. The U.S. Coast Guard responded and pulled the body from the water.

According to Detective Kim Trullender, the dead man is a middle aged white male who had not been in the water long. A pickup truck belonging to him was found parked in the parking area at the south end of the bridge, on the gulf side. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

There were no obvious signs of foul play evident on the body. The Medical Examiner’s Office will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

He was a dad, a son, a brother, a uncle and to many people he was a friend. I know this because I am his sister.
